When did you accept Christ?

I was saved at the age of 10 during a church activity. My church at the time had monthly activities for the children of the church. We normally went to a roller rink on the first Monday of the month. I walked forward during the invitation after one of the devotions. At this age I realized that I was a sinner and I did not want to end up in hell. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and was baptized a few weeks later.

How did God lead you missions?

During my teen years, I was involved in church but it was not until my college years I began to see spiritual growth in my life. In March of 2000, I began taking short term mission trips with my church. The impact of these trips changed my view of missions. I no longer thought it was just the other person that could be a missionary. That person could be me. I felt the call to missions during my first trip to the Dominican in 2006 and God confirmed the call during my second trip in April 2007.

When did you accept Christ?

I grew up in a pastor's home and was in church every time the doors were open. I had a head knowledge of God. I was involved in the youth group and for many years thought I was saved. At the age of 16, during a mission trip, I realized I was basing my salvation on how good I was. At that point I trusted Christ as my Savior. I no longer saw myself as a good person who could save herself but as one who was a sinner in need of a Savior.

How did God lead you to missions?

I went on several mission trips and through these trips God began to soften my heart toward foreign missions. In January 2001 I surrendered to missions and in March 2003, during a trip to the Dominican with Paula, God showed the Dominican is where He wanted me to serve. During the that trip God also gave me a love for the Lifehouse Children\'s ministry.
