First Things First: Finish the Wall

Help make a difference with your gifts!

Dear Friends,

(From my heart to yours)!!!! I read a quote today that spoke to my heart. “You have not lived a perfect day…unless you have done something for someone who will never be able to repay you.” (Ruth Smeltzer)

There are a number of things that have been on my heart for the past few weeks; our church’s Missions Transformation Conference, the Radical Bible study, reading through the Bible in 90 days, and the testimonies of four families that will represent us in four different and difficult people groups of the world.

I read somewhere, “Make the needs known,” and today I want to do just that. There is a wall that has not been finished in the Dominican Republic. This wall is being built around the 46-acre ministry campus as a part of the DR Vision. THE TIME IS NOW!!! There are ministries already started that will be moved to the property. These ministries have been established and are currently housed in rented facilities: children and youth baseball – renting fields; Lifehouse Rescue Homes – 3 houses renting; the Palms Christian School – renting; The Garments of Praise – renting; the Bible Institute –using church facilities. WE NEED TO FINISH THE WALL!!!

THAT IS THE NEED!! I have made it know to you. A few weeks ago, my husband, Doug, ran some figures on some things that we could cut out in order to give more to missions. We are making those cuts and enjoying the fact that the message of Jesus Christ will go farther. I want to make more cuts to give a special offering to FINISH THE WALL.

ASK YOURSELF, “HOW CAN I HELP?”

If everyone will do something the wall will be finished in February. Here are a few things that have been suggested:

  1. Skip 4 cups of Starbucks in one month: $8.00

  2. Take your lunch to work once per week: $25.00

  3. Collect your pocket change for two months: $25.00

  4. OR…

  5. Make a one-time gift: ?????

  6. Get your children, grandchildren or Sunday classes involved by purchasing blocks for $3.00 each.

Think of the children and young people whose lives will be touched and forever changed for eternity. They will never be able to thank you in person but you will know that you have “lived a perfect day.” Besides, our Heavenly Father sees and will bless you for your sacrifice.

Send your gifts to Daystar Baptist Missions, P. O. Box 1193, Barboursville, WV 25504. Please designate it for the WALL!!

Also, gifts may be made through Pay Pal which may be found on the website: dbmi.org

FINALLY, go to the website and watch the short video about the wall.

THANK YOU FROM THE DEPTHS OF MY HEART!

Serving Him!
